Our Goal
Our goal is for every child to feel safe, encouraged, creative, and proud of what they make. We want sewing to be something they look forward to each week!
Little Stitchers was created to introduce children to the rewarding, timeless skill of sewing in a fun and encouraging environment. Here, children are not simply learning to operate a sewing machine—they are learning to create, problem-solve, persevere, and take pride in something they made themselves.
Our goal is for every child to feel safe, encouraged, creative, and proud of what they make. We want sewing to be something they look forward to each week!
*Tuition is $160 for each 4-week session, plus a one-time $45 registration fee. *The registration fee is non-refundable and secures your child's place in the class. *Cancellations & Refunds: Because each class has limited availability, tuition is based on reserving your child's spot for the entire 6-week session.
*Class Attendance: Each student's tuition reserves their place in the 4-week session. Because classes are intentionally kept small, tuition covers the full session regardless of attendance. * Missed Classes & Makeup Classes: We understand that children occasionally need to miss class! Please let us know as soon as possible if your child will be absent. *One makeup class per 4-week session may be offered for an excused absence. *Makeup classes are subject to availability in another scheduled class. *Makeup classes must be completed during the same 4-week session and cannot be carried into a future session. *A missed makeup class cannot be rescheduled. *We will do everything we can to find a place for your child to make up their class. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a makeup spot because class sizes are limited to 5 students. 🌸 If Little Stitchers cancels: If a class needs to be canceled by Little Stitchers, a makeup class will be provided.
It is important for students to purchase their own fabric. This allows them to choose the fabric they like, which will make sewing their project even more exciting for them. It will also teach them the process of choosing the fabric, taking it to be cut, and asking for the amount they need. *Finding fabric Hobby Lobby is an excellent source for fabric in Athens and often has fabric sales. Michaels has some fabric in-store, but offers many more options online. *Choosing fabric For your child's sewing projects, please choose cotton or cotton-blend fabrics. These are much easier for your child to learn to sew with. Fabrics that are too thick, such as upholstery fabric, or too slippery, such as poly-satin, can make sewing skills frustrating to learn. *Sewing Machines & Supplies Sewing machines and basic sewing notions (scissors, pins, needles, ect) are provided for use during class. Students will be guided in the safe and proper use of sewing equipment.
Classes are limited to 5 students, allowing each child plenty of individual attention and instruction.
Please arrive on time for both drop-off and pickup. I want to give your child every minute of time and attention they deserve. Classes are one hour long. Children should not be left unattended before class starts or after class has ended. Teachers will be teaching or working in the classroom, so we will not be able to watch your children after class.
